To improve the ventilation design of hospital wards and protect the medical staff, analyses the existing ward ventilation systems in the Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital, and makes suggestions for improvement. Proposes the application of stratum ventilation to isolation wards, and verifies the ventilation effect by CFD simulation and experiment. The results show that stratum ventilation keeps the medical staff at upstream of the breathing zone, the pathogen concentration is significantly reduced and the air change efficiency is significantly improved. Therefore, the risk of infection among medical staff is substantially reduced.
